What an intern says of his experience

I wish to thank you for the support and mentoring during the last 8 months at Prayag. Prayag work experience has provided a solid foundation for my upcoming MBA coursework and am sure will complement the classroom teaching.

From my assignments, I understood how strategic business decisions are implemented and how overall business functions work together in an organization. Couple of assignments I worked on - one linked to company's profitability and another to market entry strategy. The Make In India assignment showed how a certain country's policies can affect business establishments. Overall, my Prayag experience rounded off my earlier work in the Manufacturing sector and also showed new areas for pursuing my career post MBA.

I found the Prayag team very encouraging and the members nurtured a learning culture all along. I could work in assignments that I hitherto thought I would not be able to accomplish, such as writing tech blogs, handling social media posts and business development. They showed that I could stretch beyond my current abilities and provided confidence for challenges that I will come by in the future.

Job Description: Conducting market research, performing data analysis using spread-sheets, developing content for various forums and assisting in digital marketing and SEO initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting market research: Assist in research assignments by carrying out web based research and participate in simple primary surveys
  • Data analysis using spread-sheets
  • Excellent writing skills (Content writing for blogs, articles and research reports)
  • Assist in digital marketing and SEO initiatives
The candidate will have to be proficient/interested in any two of the areas described above.

Desired skills: The ideal candidate should be energetic, enthusiastic and willing to learn on the job. In particular, the following traits are desirable:
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills with a flair for writing

Job Description: Servicing client requirements including preparation and presentation of analytical reports; assisting in recommendations and implementation of campaigns or best practice strategies; and building relationships with clients including coordination of client service processes

Responsibilities Include:
  • Participate in research assignments, conducting either primary or secondary research
  • Assist in preparing detailed project related documents including reports, presentations etc.

Job Description: The Account Manager (AM) will be in charge of managing and nurturing one or more client accounts located in India or in the US. The role involves interaction with the client and understanding their requirements, and interacting with the Prayag team to ensure delivery of high quality outcomes. Successful AMs at Prayag blend a variety of skills such as business understanding, ideation, project management, team handling and hands-on delivery capabilities in a matrix work environment.

The key expectations from this role are:
  • Lead interface with clients and delivery teams
  • Build a good rapport with the client, understanding their requirements and developing a sound relationship especially with operational contacts
  • Assist with execution of client engagements
  • Handle delivery management by collaborating with team and work towards continuous improvement of the account through regular reviews
  • Be accountable for quality assurance across all deliverables

Job Description: You will be required to develop content for multiple clients and hence will be exposed to different topics. The content writer role will involve:
  • Working alongside a senior writer on complex content requirements (provide research support, help in review etc. for whitepapers, brochures, website content etc.)
  • Take independent charge for content in simple deliverables (Articles, Case studies, flyers, blogs etc.).
Desired skills:
  • Excellent command over the English language
  • Ability to quickly assimilate information and structure content
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Flexibility to adapt writing style to different channels and different kinds of audience for example: online vs. print, business vs. technical etc.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team comprising account managers and creative designers
  • Deadline oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Proficient in using MS Office tools
  • Proficient in web research

Internship

  • Content writing: Assisting in content creation for blogs, articles and research reports
